39th Annual Bradetich Double Bass Master Classes 2026

Join us for the 39th Annual Bradetich Double Bass Master Classes, one of the longest-running and most prestigious events of its kind in the U.S. Held at the University of North Texas, this intensive program offers a week of world-class instruction, bringing together talented bassists from across the country and around the globe.  

Participants receive exceptional individual and group coaching in all aspects of double bass playing, including:  

  • Daily two-hour sessions focusing on technique, orchestral repertoire, and solo interpretation.  

  • Ensemble rehearsals throughout the week, culminating in a grand finale concert.  

  • Solo performance opportunities with piano accompaniment. 

This one-of-a-kind experience is open to dedicated high school and college students, young professionals, string teachers, and enthusiastic amateur bassists looking to refine their skills and expand their musical knowledge.

Participation Levels 

Full Participant (Limit 30)  

  • Participate in all sessions and solo classes.  

  • Must be proficient in three-octave scales, thumb position, and solo works at the level of Eccles Sonata or Dragonetti Concerto.  

  • No audition required. 

Arrival & Departure 

We are excited to welcome you to this year’s program! Registration and check-in will take place on Sunday, June 21st, at 6:00 PM, and the final concert will conclude around 9:15 PM on Friday, June 26th. All students, including those commuting, must check in on Sunday to ensure a smooth start to the week. 


To kick things off, we’re hosting a welcome pizza party during registration, an excellent opportunity to meet fellow participants and get ready for an inspiring week of music-making! For those staying on campus, check-out will be on Friday, June 26th, before the final concert. Belongings will be safely stored and can be picked up afterward. We can’t wait to see you there for an unforgettable experience! 
 

  • Check-in: Sunday, June 21st, 6:00 PM  - UNT Common Area 

  • Welcome Pizza Party during registration to meet fellow participants – Bruce Hall 

  • Final Concert: Friday, June 26th – Voertman Hall 

  • Campus Housing Checkout: Friday, June 26th 1:00pm (Belongings can be stored on campus until after the concert). 

 

Fees 

Tuition  

  • Full Participant: Early Bird $575 (before May 1st) | $625 (after May 1st)  

Housing  

  • Under 18: Double occupancy - $32/night (Bring your own linens & pillow)  

  • Over 18:  Single occupancy, shared bath - $40/night 

Meals  

  • Dorm Meals: $32/day (3 meals)  

  • Commuter ALL Meals: $32/day (3 meals)  

  • Commuter TWO Meals: $23/day (Lunch & Dinner) 

 

A $125 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required with registration and will be applied to your total payment. 

Double Bass Rental 

For students traveling internationally or from out of state, a limited number of double basses and stools will be available free of charge. Please indicate your request in your application.
